At the ceremonial act under the slogan of "60 years of foreign trade and export business promotion", State Secretary Homann opened the ceremony on the occasion of the awarding of the prize of the German foreign trade and export business in the historic council chamber of the Hanseatic City of Bremen, Germany. Along with the winners of the German Foreign Trade Prize, the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, the German Federal Association of Foreign Trade, the German Federal Association of wholesale trade, foreign trade and services, the Federal Association of the German industry, the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce, the German Chambers of Foreign Trade, the Bremen Chamber of Trade and the senate of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, Mr. Kentzler, the President of the German Confederation of Skilled Crafts, presented Björn Luthardt, the executive partner of the Company, with the certificate for the third place.

It took merely two years of candidacy for the Berlin based Company established in 2008 to convince the jury of its significance for the German export sector. This demonstrates, yet again, that also small-scale enterprises can do business abroad successfully, and can thus create new jobs.

This top position in the German foreign trade prize competition emphasizes how consistently the management of Luthardt GmbH is geared to sustainability in the export business. "In the past 24 months, we have operated effectively, and we have achieved a growth in sales, especially when it comes to the export business since our company was established. This also had a positive effect on our cash flow and rate of return", says Sven Luthardt who is the executive partner in charge of international business. "We are still happy about our growth and the results for the first half of 2011. For the second half of the year, we can see an increasing demand for our services for all we know at present, and in spite of the growing concern about national debt or inflation. Specifically the strongly increasing energy requirement in the emerging markets will bring about a high demand for new power plant, and more specifically for power distribution solutions".

Luthardt has set itself a goal of doublings its sales figures between 2010 and 2013 to more than ten million Euros. By the end of 2012, the Company specifically hopes to see even more growth on the European Single Market. In this context, Luthardt also acquired a majority interest in the Bremen based company of Hanseatische Energie- und Automatisierungstechnik GmbH in the third quarter of 2011. It is the objective of this acquisition to even expand the Company's presence in the service and maintenance business for medium or high-voltage plant in Europe.

Luthardt GmbH is an independent engineering service provider with business activities in the field of plant engineering and construction. The Company is active in the fields of electric power generation and distribution as well as technical equipment for railbound infrastructure. Luthardt stands for quality, efficiency, flexibility, and reliability. More than two thirds of the Company's sales are generated from direct or indirect exports to emerging markets or developing markets respectively. In the previous financial year, Luthardt generated total sales in the amount of 4.8 million Euros, and had a workforce of 58. The Company has branch offices in Libya, Syria, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, and the Republic of Serbia.
